The Civil and Environmental Engineering department has well equipped laboratories as well as advanced computing resources for graduate students to conduct state-of-the-art research.

Associated resources include:

  • The University libraries that provide a fully computerized catalog with more than nine million volumes of research material, including several thousand periodicals.
  • The collaborative use of analytical facilities for materials characterization and analysis of surfaces associated with the Departments of Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, and Physics and the Vanderbilt Institute in Nanoscience.
  • Radiography (x-ray, NMR, CAT scan) and additional chemical analysis facilities that are available in association with the Vanderbilt Medical Center.
