Mr. Brown is currently a third-year student in the Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship (IGERT) program in the Vanderbilt Environmental Engineering Department where his work involves developing a Life-Cycle Risk Analysis Framework and Methodology for Disposal of Department of Energy (DOE) Buried Wastes. Prior to coming to Vanderbilt University, he worked at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, South Carolina for more than 16 years. His primary responsibilities were to provide the technical bases and product control system allowing the Defense Waste Processing Facility to fabricate high-level waste glass to a high degree of confidence in an environment offering no possibility of rework or recycle. In 2002, he joined the Institute of Applied Systems Engineering in Laxenburg, Austria where his work involved the radiological assessment of accident scenarios concerning Russian Far East nuclear risk sites. He received his B.E. (ChE) and his M.S. (EWRE) from Vanderbilt University. |
